Cancer cell metabolism kills: Possible new therapies targeting energy supply of cancer cells?

Adenosine-5’-triphosphate (ATP) is the main energy source for all forms of work inside our cells. Scientists have found that even a short-term shortage of ATP supply can be fatal for cancer cells because activation of a mitochondria-addressed cell death pathway.
